The neutralization reaction with inorganic acids can also generate a lot of heat and generate corresponding salts;

React with metal zinc and aluminum, non-metal silicon and boron to release hydrogen;

Disproportionation reaction with chlorine, bromine, iodine and other halogens. Precipitated metal ions in the aqueous solution become hydroxides;

It can saponify oil to generate corresponding organic acid sodium salt and alcohol, and remove oil stains on fabrics.

Textile Printing and Dyeing Industry

Cotton mercerizing agent, scouring agent and desizing agent.

Chemical Industry

Production of borax, sodium cyanide, formic acid, oxalic acid, phenol, etc.

Oil Industry

Refined petroleum products and oilfield drilling muds.

Food Industry

Acid neutralizer, can be used as a peeling agent for peaches, citrus, etc., as well as a detergent for containers such as empty bottles and cans, as well as a     decolorizer and deodorizer.

Daily Chemical Industry

Saponification such as sodium hydroxide and stearic acid acts as an emulsifier,  which can be used to make shampoo, cream, etc.
